In this space, I share some of the practices found in the companion journals.
A way to continue the journey of reflecting, reframing, finding perspective and “growing through what you go through”.
SOFT PINK ORB
Practical Soul Exercise from Chapter 18 in Practical Soul
An angel reader once shared a simple practice with me that has stayed close to my heart.
Imagine a soft, pink orb…resting gently in your hand.
Into this orb, place the memories you hold—the moments, the laughter, the love.
This can be for someone still here…or someone you’ve lost.
When you’re ready, imagine offering this orb to them.
A quiet exchange.
A shared understanding.
A moment of love, passed between you.
You don’t need to know how it works. You don’t need to explain it. Just allow yourself to feel it.
A gentle way to stay connected—
through love,
through compassion,
from one soul to another.
Sometimes, the simplest moments of connection… are the ones that stay with us the longest.
Create Your Own “Levity” Playlist
Practical Soul Exercise from Chapter 23 in Practical Soul
Music, like laughter, has always had a way of lifting my spirit. During a particularly challenging season in my life, when things felt heavy and hard to make sense of, a colleague and I leaned into something simple—we created a playlist. Each day, we added one song—something that made us laugh, feel lighter, or helped us not take everything so seriously.
Some favourites included:
“Never” (Footloose Soundtrack)—we pictured ourselves dancing down the hallway like Kevin Bacon, breaking free
“These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” —a quiet sense of confidence when we needed it most
“The Blob”—completely wacky… and exactly what weneeded to turn tension into laughter
What started as a small idea became something more. It reminded us that even in the middle of difficult moments…there is still room for levity.
Think of a time in your life that felt heavy—or one you’re currently moving through.
Gently invite in something lighter.
Search for:
Songs that make you smile unexpectedly
Songs that feel playful, quirky, or fun
Songs that help you not take everything so seriously
Songs that bring even a small sense of lightness
Create your playlist.
Give it a name.
Return to it when you need a shift—not to escape what you’re feeling…
but to remind yourself that lightness can exist alongside it.
