Over the years, these symbols have become gentle reminders that help me navigate life's twists and turns.

Practical Soul Symbols 📚❤️

The Spiral

In my thirties, I kept noticing the spiral symbol.

It showed up again and again, until I finally paid attention.

When I explored its meaning, it resonated deeply:

  • A journey from ignorance to enlightenment.

  • Seeing your life with new “eyes” and new understanding.

  • Trusting change.

  • Turning inward to truly know yourself—then returning with more wisdom.

It felt like I was being guided toward a new way of thinking.

It helped me begin to “grow through what I go through.”

How healing isn’t linear

How you keep returning...

but differently.

The Camera Lens

I tell my story of the camera lens in my book, Zoom Out.

This symbol was gifted to me by my mom through a psychic medium reading.

I was going through a difficult situation at work that was having a harmful effect on my physical and psychological health.

My mom came through in this reading and the medium told me she was showing me a camera lens.

Telling me I need to Zoom Out in this situation.

That I was too emotionally entangled.

That I needed to get perspective on who I am, what I’ve done and what I continue to do.

I couldn't change reality.

But I could change my focus.

Blue Butterfly

The blue butterfly symbol came to me while spending time with my mom on her end-of-life journey.

For me, this butterfly represented the spiritual energy of Archangel Michael.

Whenever I saw it—on a card, flying to me in the Blue Ridge Mountains, seeing them all over a table cloth wrapped around my front car wheel…

It reminded me that we’re not alone—we have a whole spiritual support network.

We can ask for protection. We can ask for courage. We can ask to have our negative energy cleared. We can ask for help.

The blue butterfly came to represent a mind shift that brought in…

Peace.

Hope.

Comfort and,

Courage—to keep on keeping on.

Angel Numbers

In my early thirties, I experienced the 111 phenomenon…

  • I was waking up repeatedly at 1:11 AM

  • I received directions to a conference with an exit #111.

  • My grocery bill came to $111.

  • My cousin and his wife bought a home - #111.

  • My colleague lent me a video tape for recording and the last date on the tape was January 11th - 111.

This was a pattern that was hard to ignore and my curisoity got the best of me.

When I looked it up online, I learned that the 111 phenomenon was something many others were experiencing also.

Many people interpreted it as a form of communication from the universe or from Angels.

I didn’t know if it meant anything at all…but I couldn’t ignore how often it was showing up.

The message I kept coming across for 111 was… Watch your thoughts, because they are manifesting your reality.

Whether symbolic or not, it encouraged me to pay closer attention to my thoughts and how they shaped my experience.

As time has gone on I have experienced "Angel Numbers” often and every time, the message hits home, and helps me feel more settled and at peace with myself and my life.

111

Your thoughts are manifesting instantly—keep your mind-set focused on your desires—give your worries to the Angels.

222

Trust that everything is working out exactly as it’s supposed to—for everyone involved.

333

You are completely surrounded, protected, loved, and guided by the Angels—the universe has your back.

444

You are surrounded by Angels— completely loved, supported, and guided by them and you have nothing to fear.

555

Big changes in your life—to keep them on the highest possible course, keep your thoughts positive, and stay grounded in prayer.

The Tree of Life

During my healing journey on long-term disability, I was drawn to the Tree of Life symbol.

The spiral taught me HOW I was growing.

The tre showed me WHAT THAT GROWTH LOOKED LIKE.

Roots hold all my “soul growth” lessons—the hardest parts—the deepest learnings.

A trunk built through resilience and identity.

Branches reaching into various experiences in my life.

Leaves creating a canopy of seasons of my life.

And rings—holding the invisible accumulation of it all.

The trunk, branches and leaves are what people can see —the visible parts of your life.

The roots and the rings are what people can’t see—the invisible parts of your life—your self-awareness and personal growth.
